12th Century Mansion House Suites

Situated within the grand setting of the 12th century Mansion House with its own Jacobean staircase, Shrewsbury’s oldest secular building offers the very finest in individual luxury and romantic accommodation. Three of the suites are furnished with 4-poster beds, two have large Victorian roll top baths and one has a corner Jacuzzi bath. All of the Mansion House Suites have been newly refurbished with designer fabrics from Skopos and Panaz together with antiques.

Charles Louis Suite

Situated within Shrewsbury’s most historical secular building, the 12th Century Mansion House, the Charles Louis Suite features an ornate King size 4-poster bed draped with Panaz designer fabrics, high quality Hypnos pocket sprung bed and an historic oak panelled original fireplace.

The room also benefits from having a flat screen LCD TV with Freeview, BT Openzone WiFi, towelling robes, hair dryer, welcome tray with biscuits, duvet, thick and fluffy towels and quality Duck Island toiletries. The bathroom provides a bath and separate walk-in shower. A particular feature of the room is the antique furniture. Very quietly situated with views over the courtyard garden.

King James I Suite

Situated within Shrewsbury’s most historical secular building, the 12th Century Mansion House, King James I features an antique 4-poster bed draped with Panaz fabrics with a superbly comfortable Hypnos pocket sprung bed. In keeping with its historical past the room reveals a magnificent original timbered ceiling. The view is over medieval Church Street. The contemporary bathroom is equipped with a corner bath and a walk-in shower with dumper head effect.

Prince Maurice Suite

Situated within the 12th Century Mansion House, Shrewsbury’s most historical secular building, Prince Maurice is reached via its own private oak beamed staircase. The King size ornate brass bedstead features a high quality Hypnos pocket sprung bed. Panaz designer fabrics are used throughout the room together with antique furniture including a wonderfully comfortable chaise longue. The bathroom has a free standing deep Victorian roll top bath and a separate walk-in shower.
